Genbaneko uses M.U.G.E.N's default A.I., and thus is not particularly difficult to defeat. In comparison, 大回転ヨシ! hits many more times and deals a lot more damage, but has a longer recovery time. ヨシ!ヨシ!ヨシ! is a three-hit combo that stands out by mostly hitting, on top of giving, though it does not deal a particularly large amount of damage. Genbaneko's other Assist, クレーンヨシ!, is comparatively weak as it cannot have its damage expanded upon and is oriented around hitting airborne opponents, which is not ideal given that Ganbaneko's only move that forces the opponent into the air is フォークリフトヨシ!, which cannot be active at the same time as クレーンヨシ!. Because using パレットヨシ! increases the aeformentioned pallet counter every time it's used, using it often can be a good strategy to maximize the damage output of フォークリフトヨシ!. If the pallet counter is above zero, the forklift will fire additional projectiles upon contact with a target, dealing extra damage. フォークリフトヨシ! summons a forklift that drives from either side of the screen, ramming into either the opponent or Genbaneko. パレットヨシ! deals less damage, but can hit and gives along with having a faster recovery time, meaning it's possible to link the move into itself, albeit with some difficulty as the timing window is pretty strict. 突進ヨシ! is a simple melee attack that makes for a decent combo-ending Special, though the long recovery time and lack of ability to cancel out of Specials leaves Genbaneko open when using it. The counter is depleted whenever フォークリフトヨシ! is activated (whether manually or automatically via the safety gauge). On top of the safety gauge, Genbaneko also has a pallet counter at the bottom of the screen that increases every time they use パレットヨシ!, maxing out at 9. The gauge can be reset to blue by either using one of the assists (whether manually or automatically), or by using the aeformentioned 安全確認. Once the gauge turns red, one of Genbaneko's Assists ( フォークリフトヨシ! or クレーンヨシ!) will automatically appear, which can hurt Genbaneko if not avoided. Genbaneko has a gauge shaped like their own head whose color indicates "safety", going from blue to yellow to red.
